Mirchi ka Salan Recipe

 Mirchi ka Salan Dish
- 250 gms chillies, boiled in salted water till colour changes and drained
- 1 onion, sliced fine
- 1 tbsp desiccated dry khopra
- 1 tsp chironji
- 1½ tsp til
- 1 tsp dhania powder
- 1 tsp jeera
- 2 tsp adrak-lasan paste
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- ¼ tsp haldi
- A few curry patta
- Walnut sized imli, dissolved in 1½ cups water
- 3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Lightly roast and grind the following to a paste: til, chironji and khopra. Add dhania powder, chilli powder and haldi. Heat oil and add the jeera, allow it to splutter. Then add the masala paste and adrak-lasan paste and fry till oil separates. Add the drained chillies, curry patta, fry a little. Pour in the tamarind water, adding salt to taste. Simmer till the gravy is thick and oil floats to the top. Serve with Biryani.
