Malida Sweet Dish

From Sweets & Desserts Section

Malida Meetha

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fine rava
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 – 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 ½ tbsp ghee
  • Ghee enough to fry
  • 1 ½ cups mava, lightly roasted
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • A handful of chopped nuts, fried
  • A few drops rose essence
  • A pinch of salt

Method:

To the rava and wheat flour add 1 ½ tablespoons of melted ghee and a pinch of salt. Make a dough with warm milk and divide the dough into equal sized balls. Roll out like puris, prick them and fry till crisp.

Pound the crisp puris while still warm. Dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of milk. Add the mava and place over heat. Add the essence and the pounded puris. Remove and allow to cool.

To the milk mixture add the eggs and place over low heat, allowing it to thicken.

Garnish with chopped nuts and small pieces of khadi shakkar.
